About CEG COIN


Building on the strong historical and geographical ties between the three Mediterranean countries and adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), The Egyptian, Cypriot and Greek governments decided to establish a trilateral Center to operate as a hub for fostering collaboration and business matchmaking between entities established in the three States. It also aims at achieving economic growth, poverty reduction and job creation.

The Center, Cyprus Egypt Greece Collaborative Innovation Network (CEG COIN), founding headquarter was officially launched on the 21st of November, 2017 in the Technology Park of Borg el Arab in the Mediterranean city Alexandria, Egypt with branches located in Cyprus and Greece. It acts as a platform that aims at improving the innovation process and fostering ICT innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystems in the three Mediterranean countries.

COIN Powered Exhibition at Cairo ICT 2018

Cyprus Egypt Greece Collaborative Innovation Network (CEG COIN) has offered the opportunity to five Greek and Three Cypriot companies to exhibit at Cairo ICT 2018 International Exhibition from November 25 to November 28, 2018.

A total of 14 Greek and Cypriot startups and enterprises were present at the exhibition. The companies are DATAVERSE LTD, Openichnos Hellas PC, PROTONYX, SIMPLY POS, SPACE HORIZON SA, VTranslations, LINAKIS DIGITAL, EXCLUSIVI, Telenavis, MANTIS, VERTITECH, and Embio Diagnostics Ltd, Abacio, Softline Computer Systems.

H.E. Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat has welcomed H.E. Greek Minister of Digital Policy, Information and Telecommunications, Nikos Pappas and both of them visited the booth and talked to the individual companies represented at the CEG COIN pavilion.

COIN Powered exhibition at Cairo ICT covered some major activities that aimed at raising awareness of CEG COIN role in connecting the innovation ecosystem in the three states. One of the main objectives is to facilitate B2B matchmaking between startups and SMEs in Cyprus, Egypt and Greece and finally supporting startups and SMEs with access to markets. The Inauguration of Cyprus Egypt Greece Collaborative Innovation Network- CEG COIN

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras inaugurated, remotely, the Cyprus-Egypt-Greece Collaborative Innovation Network (CEG-COIN)— established in Borg El-Arab Technology Park, Alexandria—during El-Sisi’s official visit to Cyprus.

The inauguration was on the first day of the GEC-COIN Inauguration Event and Workshop held on November 21-22, in Borg El-Arab Technology Park, Alexandria, in conjunction with the fifth trilateral summit of Cyprus, Greece and Egypt, taking place in Nicosia on November 21.
The event agenda featured also opening remarks made by senior officials from the three countries. This is in addition to the Virtual Startups Pitching Session from Cyprus and Greece and other sessions that discuss the innovation ecosystem in each country. The event also provides opportunities for startups from the three countries—invited to the workshop—to network, exchange ideas and best practices.
The CEG COIN will act as a platform to enhance collaboration, networking and business matchmaking among the innovation ecosystems within the three Mediterranean countries. The CEG COIN will also fulfill the three countries' interest in fostering digital skills, entrepreneurship and Research and Development (R&D) areas as well as benefiting from the best practices in the ICT fields.
