COIN Powered Exhibition at Cairo ICT 2018

Cyprus Egypt Greece Collaborative Innovation Network (CEG COIN) has offered the opportunity to five Greek and Three Cypriot companies to exhibit at Cairo ICT 2018 International Exhibition from November 25 to November 28, 2018.
A total of 14 Greek and Cypriot startups and enterprises were present at the exhibition. The companies are DATAVERSE LTD, Openichnos Hellas PC, SIMPLY POS, PROTONYX, SPACE HORIZON SA, VTranslations, LINAKIS DIGITAL, EXCLUSIVI, Telenavis, MANTIS, VERTITECH, and Embio Diagnostics Ltd, Abacio, Softline Computer Systems.
H.E. Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat has welcomed H.E. Greek Minister of Digital Policy, Information and Telecommunications, Nikos Pappas and both of them visited the booth and talked to the individual companies represented at the CEG COIN pavilion.
COIN Powered exhibition at Cairo ICT covered some major activities that aimed at raising awareness of CEG COIN role in connecting the innovation ecosystem in the three states. One of the main objectives is to facilitate B2B matchmaking between startups and SMEs in Cyprus, Egypt and Greece and finally supporting startups and SMEs with access to markets. CEG COIN activities at Cairo ICT included the following:
- COIN Workshop: It took place on the 26 of November and it covered important topics for the three states. The workshop began with a welcoming note by the Egyptian, Cypriot and Greek managers. It was followed by a presentation on “ITIDA’s incentives to Cypriot and Greek ICT SMEs” by Ms. Noha Shaaban, Investment Promotion and Development Manager at ITIDA. A presentation on “Available funding opportunities of the EUROPEAN INVESTMENT FUND, EQUIFUND” by Ms. Vivi Papasouli, and Mr. George Giakoumakis Mandate Relationship Managers at EIF. A presentation on “Business Support in Cyprus via the Startup Visa program” by Mr. Marios Giorgoudis, CIPA. Mr. Konstantinos Haniotis, TELENAVIS and Mr. Ahmed El Sayed, Positives Edge presented “Successful case studies of Greek startups operating in Egypt”. Finally, Mr. Panagiotis Athanasiadis, Deputy Governor of Digital Policy, Region of Attica delivered a presentation on “THEA Incubator”. Kindly find all PowerPoint presentations HERE
- B2B matchmaking meetings: CEG COIN has successfully arranged more than 30 B2B matchmaking meetings between Greek, Cypriot and Egyptian ICT service providers and startups to support the network companies in creating B2B partnerships in the three markets.
- Steering Committee Meeting: Steering committee members have met during CEG COIN activities in Cairo ICT 2018 where they discussed the status of CEG COIN and the way forward with the successful alliance between the three countries.
